  • Why do my Gums Bleed?

Bleeding is often a sign of Gum Disease (Periodontitis).

This is one of the most common medical condition that is often not diagnosed or treated because it often does not present with pain.

Not only can you loose teeth and implants from Gum Disease, it can be associated to other medical conditions such as; Cerebrovascular, Heart and Pulmonary Diseases, as well as Type II Diabetes, Chronic Kidney Disease, Rheumatoid Arthritis.

  • What is a Dental Implant?

A dental implant is often considered the Gold Standard of replacing missing teeth.

The dental implant placed into the bones of the jaw, is allowed to heal and becomes integrated with the bone. The implant acts as the "root" of the tooth and the crown (the visible section) is restored by your referring dentist.

There is often notable bone loss or damage after the loss of a tooth and a Specialist Periodontist will assess the site carry out bone regenerative procedures (if required) and surgical placement of the implant.

You are then returned to your referring dentist for the placement of the crown

  • Your First Appointment

Normally you will be referred to us by your dentist. However a referral is not essential, nevertheless, we like to work closely with your dentist to achieve the best outcome for your oral health.

During your first visit, we will carry out a consult to ascertain your periodontal or implant needs.

We discuss and answer your concerns and formulate a treatment plan that will address your issues.

If you have private dental insurance, some of the fees may be rebatable, however this should be discussed directly between your insurer and yourself, as we are an independent specialist practice and are not preferred providers and do not use HICAPs.

Unfortunately dentistry generally not covered by Medicare, health care nor pension benefits
